Q. Thermus M.f, 103 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.52 g, 1 h), Rome. Head of Mars to left, wearing crested helmet decorated with two volutes and a plume. Rev. Q•THERM•MF Two warriors fighting, each armed with sword and shield; the one on the left protects a fallen comrade, the other wears horned helmet. Babelon (Minucia) 19. Crawford 319/1. RBW 1174. Sydenham 592. A beautifully toned example with an exceptional reverse. Minor marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.
